Sebelas tahun lalu Lumpur Sidoarjo (Lusi) menyembur dan menenggelamkan enam belas desa di tiga kecamatan. Beberapa warga korban lumpur mencari penghasilan dengan menjadi tukang ojek sekaligus tour guide di daerah "wisata lumpur" itu.
Sebelas tahun adalah waktu yang panjang untuk beradaptasi, tetapi tidak melupakan, karena mereka setiap hari menceritakan kembali kronologi kejadian saat lumpur itu menyembur dan menenggelamkan rumah mereka.
On May 29th 2006, a mud volcano on the gas drilling site of PT. Lapindo Brantas in Sidoarjo erupted. It has been in eruption since then. The mud had drowned at least 16 villages. Until 2017, victims' compensation for the loss of their home have not been settled. Some of the victims of the Lapindo mud flood are now selling documentary DVDs and providing tours by motorcycles (ngojek) on the "tourist site".
